FAQs

What if I’m not available for the whole period?

Ideally you will be but if not then there may be some flexibility depending on how much you’re not available for e.g. a single day off because of your BFFs wedding can probably be accommodated but missing 3 weeks of an 8 week program won’t be.

Can I apply for more than 1 role?

Yes. But remember if you’ve got the skills and personality for one role you might not have the skills for another. We’re really looking for people who want to start a long career in the industry so some clarity on your journey is probably helpful.

Can I apply if I don’t have any screen industry experience?

Absolutely! Locations and On Set Technical are open to people with no prior film experience however everyone wants to know that you have work experience so you can demonstrate resilience at work. Costume and Camera ask for some prior knowledge or experience but it’s not a high bar so please think about applying if you can.

You can also take steps in the short term to demonstrate an interest in the industry – Screen Careers offers free eLearning courses and online workshops which you could attend or complete in advance. You might find you love the industry…. Or not!!

What if I don't live in Sydney?

The roles are in the office, in Sydney and everyone needs to be a local hire i.e. we don’t pay any accommodation costs or working away from home allowance. However if you are happy to move to Sydney and can manage to find and fund accommodation locally then we’ll be thrilled to have you.
