Bespoke Training for your Production

Screen Careers offers fully-tailored production companies training programs to support businesses creating the content for the Australian screen industry. Covering everything from fundamentals such as induction, scaffolding and traineeship, our training is designed to support crews of all skill levels to ensure consistency and compliance.

Induction Programs

Building a team culture amongst your production crew is critical to creating a positive and productive working environment on set.  Screen Careers Induction Programs are tailor-made to help fast-track the creation of a positive crew with an aligned understanding of on-set protocols.

Run in early pre-production and designed in consultation with the Producers, an Induction Program can cover a range of subjects.  Workshops and information sessions may include communication protocols on set, health and safety briefings, child set regulations, bullying and harassment policies, management and team leadership skills and when required, technical trade-skills upskilling.

Scaffolding Attachment &
Traineeship Programs

Bringing in less experienced crew and helping to train them is vital for our industry to survive and a requirement of most funding agencies…. but it can come at a cost to the production. New people need support to thrive, but sometimes the crew they’re attached to don’t have the skills to train them properly or the time to support them during a busy production – and they feel it is an extra imposition on their already busy days.

To scaffold attachments and early career crew our offerings include:

  • Pre-Employment Induction – a 2 hour session to explain what their particular role involves and how the set operates.
  • Supervisor training – a 1 hour session for those managing the attachee’s on set.  It covers how to share knowledge and different learning styles, creating and managing expectations and how to handle difficult conversations.
  • Employment Support – Our team support trainees with their hunt for work after their traineeship and, if required, we complete the documentation required by the funding agencies.
  • A initial meeting with the team
  • Scheduled Check-ins
  • On-Call Support

Locations Offset Training Requirement Programs

From July 2024, once the legislation has been passed, Screen Careers will offer the training programs that meet the requirements of the Locations Offset.  We are a one stop shop, creating and delivering bespoke training to meet your requirements and assist you with the reporting obligations for the training element of a Locations Offset application.
