In the screen industry we’re, by and large, all freelancers. And unless you’re really lucky or there’s a continuous boom (surely an oxymoron?) production ebbs and flows. This leaves you with a few career options:
a) have enough savings and be frugal enough to not work 4 – 5 months of the year.
b) win the lottery. Not a great career strategy – even less dependable than freelancing!
c) build a portfolio career.
But what does that mean exactly?
