Attachment/ Trainee Program Call Out

BBC STUDIOS PROGRAMME OFFERS 8 TRAINEESHIPS  – SUPPORTED BY SCREEN CAREERS.

As we all know, maintaining and growing talented and experienced crew is essential to the success of Australia’s film and television industry. This extensive, supported BBC trainee program will offer opportunities to different skill levels – from entry to mid-career – over several weeks and deliver a credit on an unnamed (and confidential for now)  production being filmed in Western Australia.

The traineeship program is proudly supported by Screenwest.

Screen Careers is thrilled to be supporting the attachments to help you build your career in our industry – you belong here.

Now enough of the blah and onto the details!

Application Process:

Firstly and importantly – to be eligible you need to be  a Western Australian resident.  These positions are not open to anybody outside WA and we won’t be considering those applications.

Secondly, we want people who see a potential long career in these departments.  Please don’t think about them simply as a way into the Screen Industry.

And finally, read the application form and spend a bit of time crafting your answers.

Please read the information below and find the attachment, or attachments, that you’re genuinely interested in.

Read the application form and spend a bit of time crafting your answers.

FAQs

What if I’m not available for the whole period?

Ideally you will be but if not then there may be some flexibility depending on how much you’re not available for e.g. a single day off because of your BFFs wedding can probably be accommodated but missing 3 weeks of an 18 week program won’t be.

Can I apply for more than 1 role?

Yes. But remember if you’ve got the skills and personality for one role you might not have the skills for another. We’re really looking for people who want to start a long career in the industry so some clarity on your journey is probably helpful.

Can I apply if I don’t have any screen industry experience?

Yes, absolutely but you must demonstrate transferable skills and genuine enthusiasm in this field in your long term career.

For First Nations people with transferable skills or at the very start of their career, we are running a program called Set Educated so you can learn more about the industry and see if it’s for you – See here.

What if I don't live in Western Australia?

Sadly, this opportunity doesn’t apply to you.  Next time!

Can adjustments be made to the role?

Yes absolutely, if you are Disabled or need adjustments/flexibility due to family life or other circumstances we will be very open to those conversations. Please contact us at hello@screencareeers to discuss further.

When will I get an outcome to my application?

Everyone will get an acknowledgement within 72 hours of applying. Please check your spam/junk mail. We will short list 10 people for the production team to look at and they will select 3 to interview. At this point we will let you know the outcome of your application.
