A Two-Day Intensive training that will teach you all the skills you need to get started as a professional Camera Assistant, working ‘one-out’ (a.k.a., on your own) while assisting the DP efficiently. Get ahead in your career with professional education… and win more jobs.

We will provide a comprehensive introduction to camera assisting, with a mix of theoretical knowledge and the practical skills essential for a successful career working in the Camera Dept.

Over the two days, we cover all the fundamentals a camera assistant would be expected to know. These include: Introduction to the Digital Cinema Camera, lens handling and management, camera builds, using accessories, focus pulling, data wrangling, gear prep, slating, setting up to shoot a scene, problem solving, working with your crew and much more.

This short course will be led by Grant Sweetnam who is an incredibly knowledgeable and experienced 1st AC and Focus Puller.

There is no application process for this course, so ShotClass suggests you make your own appraisal as to whether the course is suitable for you.
